PALISI Approved Survey of PICU Providers About Morning Rounds Practices

Hello, my name is Sharon Calaman. I am a PICU attending from NYU Langone Health conducting a research study titled “Survey of PICU Providers About Morning Rounds Practices”. Thank you for your interest in our survey research study. We would like to tell you everything you need to think about before you decide whether or not to join the study. It is entirely your choice. If you decide to take part, you can change your mind later on and withdraw from the research study by not submitting the survey or you can choose not to answer certain questions.

1)         The purpose of this study is to survey a large portion of the national pediatric critical care workforce to obtain data about their practices on morning rounds with respect to information shared and the presence of families.

2)         This study will take about 10 minutes to complete.

3)         If you continue and agree to participate, you will be asked to answer anonymous survey questions about your experience on morning rounds, what information is important to share on morning rounds, and some information about your practice setting.

4)         No identifying information will be collected and the data will be reviewed in aggregate.5) This study is not intended to benefit you directly, but we hope this research will benefit the field of pediatric critical care medicine and allow us to develop effective strategies for morning rounds.

If you have questions about this study, your part in it, your rights as a research participant, or if you have questions, concerns or complaints about the research you may contact the following:

Sharon Calaman, MD, Primary Investigator, Sharon.Calaman@nyulangone.org or 212-263-2377

NYU Langone Health IRB at 212-263-4110

Please click on the link to continue on to the Research Subject Information Sheet to learn more about the study and to continue on to the survey if you would like to participate.

Approved by NYU SoM IRB on 8/15/2025
