Who Should Use a One-Day Guest Pass?

 

A One-Day Guest Pass may be appropriate for a non-member who:

​

• Has a specific professional or educational reason to attend.

• Plans to attend only one day of the meeting.

• Is interested in a particular session, presentation, or subgroup meeting.

• Is collaborating on a specific PALISI-related project or discussion.

• Is not expected to participate regularly in PALISI meetings or activities.

Individuals who plan to participate in multiple PALISI meetings, attend multiple subgroup activities, or become regularly involved in the PALISI community should pursue PALISI membership and standard meeting registration instead. Current PALISI members should not use the One-Day Guest Pass registration form.

 

PALISI Member Sponsorship Required

 

Every One-Day Guest Pass applicant must be sponsored by a current PALISI member.

Before agreeing to sponsor a guest, the PALISI member should confirm that:

• You know the guest professionally.

• Their attendance has a legitimate educational or professional purpose.

• Their participation is appropriate for the specific session or subgroup they wish to attend.

• They understand PALISI's expectations regarding confidentiality and professional conduct.

• Their participation is limited in nature and is not being used as a substitute for PALISI membership.

Members should also make their guest aware that PALISI meetings may include discussion of unpublished research, developing projects, scientific ideas, and other confidential information.

How the Process Works

​

1. The sponsoring PALISI member speaks with the guest.
Confirm that the One-Day Guest Pass is appropriate and discuss the PALISI meeting expectations.

2. The guest completes the One-Day Guest Pass registration form.
The guest will provide their contact and professional information, requested date of attendance, planned session(s) or subgroup(s), and the name of their sponsoring PALISI member.

3. Payment is submitted with the request.
The One-Day Guest Pass fee is $150 per day. Payment does not guarantee approval.

4. PALISI reviews the request.
PALISI staff will review the submission and forward it to the PALISI Chair and Treasurer for approval. The sponsoring member and other appropriate PALISI leaders may be included in the review.

5. A decision is sent by email.
Applicants should allow up to 5 business days to receive an approval decision. The registration is not final until approval has been provided by email.

6. Approved guests receive attendance instructions.
The confirmation will identify the approved date and authorized meeting activities.

​

If a request is not approved, the guest will be notified, and the registration fee will be fully refunded.

 

Guest Access

 

An approved One-Day Guest Pass allows attendance only on the approved day and for the approved session(s) or subgroup meeting(s).

A Guest Pass does not provide general access to the full PALISI meeting and does not include access to restricted activities such as Executive Committee meetings, Steering Committee meetings, member business meetings, or other restricted sessions unless specifically authorized.

Confidentiality & Professional Conduct

 

All guests are expected to maintain the confidentiality of PALISI meeting discussions and comply with PALISI professional conduct expectations. Guests may not record, photograph, reproduce, distribute, or use unpublished research, project information, scientific discussions, or other meeting content without appropriate permission. Failure to follow these expectations may result in removal from the meeting.
