About PALISI Network

The Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network is an international collaborative research network focused on advancing research and improving outcomes for critically ill children through collaboration, education, and innovation.

Position Overview

PALISI Network is seeking a detail-oriented, self-managed Finance & Membership Coordinator to support the Network’s administrative operations, financial coordination, and member services. This role is well suited for someone who is organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining consistent communication with organizational leadership.

This is a contractor position and does not include employee benefits. The role offers flexibility, meaningful work, and the opportunity to engage with a national research network.

Key Responsibilities

Membership & Portal Management

  • Maintain accurate member records in the PALISI portal

  • Troubleshoot member access issues and respond to inquiries

  • Support event registrations and renewals

Event Registration & Meeting Support

  • Manage registration processes and data accuracy

  • Assist with post-event reconciliation and reporting

  • Support conference logistics and hybrid meeting technology

Financial Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Treasurer and accounting firm

  • Track member credits, reimbursements, and payments

  • Assist with financial documentation and reporting

Administrative & Reporting Duties

  • Track tasks, deadlines, and outstanding requests

  • Maintain organized records and documentation

  • Provide regular updates to PALISI leadership

Work Structure & Expectations

  • Typical workload averages approximately 10 hours per week, with increased activity around peak meeting and conference periods

  • This role is not hourly; compensation is structured as a flat contractor rate and does not include overtime

  • Includes up to two weeks of paid travel per year to attend PALISI conferences and meetings

  • Requires the ability to be consistent, responsive, and proactive, particularly during busy periods

This role is a great fit for adult learners, graduate students, or professionals seeking a secondary role, provided they can reliably meet communication and performance expectations.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to self-manage workload and report effectively to leadership

  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel and/or Google Sheets)

  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes

  • Tech-savvy, particularly with hybrid meeting technology and online platforms

  • Clear written communication skills

Experience in nonprofit administration, academic or research settings, or professional associations is preferred.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to work long days during conferences and meetings

  • Some walking, standing, and light lifting (e.g., materials, signage, equipment) during in-person events

  • Willingness to travel for PALISI meetings as needed

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and aligned with PALISI’s existing budget for this role. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.
