PALISI Approved Survey: PALISI ECMO Pediatric Drowning Survey

Are you a medical provider who has been involved in treatment of pediatric patients with ECMO within the past 5 years? If so, we invite you to participate in a survey exploring factors that clinicians use in determining Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) candidacy for pediatric drowning patients. 

We welcome responses from multiple clinicians within each hospital. However, please complete the survey independently. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete.This survey involves research. The Institutional Review Board of the University of Texas at Austin has approved this study. Participation is voluntary and responses will be collected anonymously.

You will be asked a series of questions about your type of medical practice, specialty, years of experience, and past involvement in decision-making about treating pediatric patients with ECMO. We will also ask about your institution's ECMO program and ask you to answer questions about how you would approach some hypothetical clinical vignettes involving use of ECMO.
