Among the many awards given at the opening reception, the greatest congratulations go to Dr. Marie Steiner for receiving the Jacques LaCroix Lifetime Achievement Award. Other recognitions included retiring EC members: Dr. Neal Thomas, Dr. Robinder Khemani, Dr. Mary Dahmer, Dr. Ann-Marie Brown, and Lexie Goertzen, along with our outgoing CRC Director, Dr. Aline Maddux.

Share your work in the upcoming special issue: "Pediatric Critical Care Nursing: Implementing Nurse-Led Interventions in Pediatric Critical Care"

Dear Colleagues,

Nurses are present with critically ill children and families the most throughout a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) admission. However, interventions that leverage nurses’ positionality to optimize support for families during and following a PICU stay are lacking. This Special Issue therefore aims to advance the science and future implementation of nurse-led and nurse-involved interventions that focus on supporting child, family (e.g., parents, siblings, grandparents, chosen family, etc.) and nurse acute and long-term outcomes. To accomplish this goal, we seek original research papers, including quantitative and qualitative descriptive studies of novel roles for nurse-led/nurse-involved intervention opportunities, pilot and feasibility studies, clinical trials, protocol papers, implementation studies and innovative, family-driven (e.g., family representatives involved in intervention design) intervention development procedures. We welcome manuscripts that describe novel nurse-led and/or interprofessional team-based approaches to improve both acute and long-term outcomes such as delirium, language accessibility, early mobility, family-centered care, care experience, post-traumatic stress and more (list is illustrative, not exhaustive).
